Check out the site feed43.com . I was able to create a custom feed for their albums (their own feed is broken right now), which you can find here: http://feed43.com/metacritic_m...

Cheers,
Will

Re: Better Metacritic RSS feeds

Is it possible to combine all 6 feeds into a single feed?
I'm a fellow hiveminder user and have been looking for a fluid icon. Unfortunately I couldn't download your dmg file. Could you post it as a png file I wonder? The reason I ask is although I use OSX but there are other users using mozilla/prism on windows or linux and they wouldn't be able to open the dmg file.

Did you ever get a chance to look at providing the MetaCritic RSS feeds? I left you a comment on June 9, 2009 above. So, I was just checking to see if you can create a similar RSS script on feedburners for the movie/dvd section for MetaCritic with critic's scores??

Please let me know via email or you can update your blog comments for this post.

Unfortunately this seems to be broken right now, because Metacritic has just stopped updating their RSS feeds. I've got some code in progress to work around this, but I've been pretty slammed at work and haven't had time to finish it up and move it in place.

Re: Better Metacritic RSS feeds

Hi Clayton,

First off, Great job on putting together these feeds for the Games on Metacritic. Could you PLEASE PLEASE put together the same feeds for their FILM section where they list all their movies (recent movies, as well as DVDs) ALONG with their metacritic scores?? I really like the format you have used in your feeds (i.e. Scores, Title, Date, and a detailed blurb about the review)

Please email me back as soon as you can. I do appreciate it.

I had also changed email accounts. So I didn't see their their auto acknowledge email saying I had to call them. They didn't deactivate so I got Paytrust charge again in March and April - each time. I finally called and I received the same Bulls--- response you got - I told them that was ridiculous. They said they woudl refund my Paytrust charges. But, I had also changed bank accounts so their debits created insufficent fund charges of $70!. They repeated their ridiculous policy of confirming cancellations by phone. I'm on a mission to expose these practices.

Re: Canceling should be as easy as signing up.

I completely agree. In some cases, especially with banking it is even worse. I'll never do business with Wells Fargo again for a similar incident. After my wedding, they refused to add my wife to my bank account because she had a Louisiana license, so I decided to close the account. I was not allowed to do so from the branch I opened at, which was one of their largest. I had to go about 20 miles away and meet with one guy when he was available. I was in line behind 7 others and it took 4 hours in total.

He still managed to screw up the account closure and left $.03 in my account. They sent me monthly notices that my account was too low. They told me on the phone that I would have to go make an appointment with that guy again to fix it. I hope it cost them lots in postage.

Re: Things you don't expect to see in traffic: Unicycles

I actually have a co-worker who rides around town on a unicycle sometimes. I found your website from your Flickr profile and decided to comment on this. I have random rides and information on my site: dcuni.com

I'm a services employee from Progressive and I was just searching Google to see what people say about Progressive. I was confident that everything would be good, save for a few odd experiences. I was pretty surprised to read that you've encountered reviews that state our service is bad. I've been with Progressive for four years while attending college, and I can tell you that our company is the most customer-oriented organization I've ever dealt with. Not that you probably care too much about our company's culture (insurance is just another 'required' bill to most people), but Progressive is truly like a family of employees who really care. It's not just some slogan. They hire the best, and anyone who doesn't live up to Progressive's standards of excellent and attentive service are graciously shown the door. We, Progressive, bend over backwards to make sure our customer's are happy! Not only are we extensively licensed and trained on state specific insurance laws, they also give us motivation courses on topics such as empathy. Empathy! How many companies have you called where you were angry and you were greeted by someone who wanted to argue you or simply didn't care? If anyone is caught demonstrating that behavior here, they would have a *very* short career with Progressive! Okay, okay, I know I'm going off on a rant, but I really do care about all of my customers and I absolutely adore my company. I just hope that anyone reading this remembers that online reviews can be either bogus or representative of a very small sampling. I would stake a hefty bet that the vast majority of customers are more than satisfied with Progressive, whether they're calling in for something simple or are experiencing a catastrophic claim. /rant !!

Re: Geico vs Progressive, Fight!

This was a very helpful review for me. I recently changed from GEICO to Progressive (having previously been a progressive customer). I had origonally switched from Progressive to GEICO because they had raised my rate astronomically after I filed a claim for a single car, no injury, no property damage claim against my Jeep Cherokee. Now they are significantly less expensive. It will be interesting to see what happens as time progresses.

I'm using Firefox 1.0.5 with the Tab Mix extension, so if I middle click, it opens the links in new tab, but in the background, unfocused. I'll have to look and see if there is a way to make it focused, but this would still be an issue if my laptop wasn't freakish and only had two buttons. Otherwise I'd have to control-click, which again is a minor issue, but slightly more of a hassle.
